- 1. Getting Started
- To tweak your connection, you will need to load one of the many CableNut Custom setting' files.

- Go to the directory you installed the CableNut Software to (additionally you can use the desktop shortcut).
- First load the Adjuster.exe and select what Operating System you currently use.
- Locate the "CCS" sub-folder.
- Choose the appropriate CCS file that fits your connection (See section 2).
- Right click and go to "Apply CCS Settings"
- Reboot and changes will be made.

- 2. Definition of .CCS files that are included with the Adjuster

- 9x = the "9x" tag at the end of a specific .CCS tells you it is for the Windows 98, 95, and ME operating systems.
- 2k = the "2k" tag at the end of a specific .CCS tells you it is for all flavors of Win2K (including WinXP).

- Cable
- cable_normal.ccs = Intended for Cable users that can achieve up to 250 kBytes/sec bandwidth (or capped users).
- cable_fast.ccs = Intended for Cable users that can achieve more than 250 kBytes/sec bandwidth (non-capped).
- cable_router.ccs = Optimal for users who run a Linksys, or UGate router.

- DSL (PPPoE)
- pppoe_normal.ccs = Intended for DSL users that have below the 1.5Mb/it speed package.
- pppoe_fast.ccs = Intended for DSL users that have the 1.5Mb/it speed package.
- pppoe_router.ccs = Optimal for users who run a Linksys, or UGate router.
- pppoe_enternet100-300.ccs = For users who use the Enternet version 100, and 300 PPPoE software.

- These .ccs files are for ISDN, and 56K modem users.

- Want to know what all those values do? Located in the CableNut folder are two files which explain these settings.

- Tcpip98.htm = pertains info to the Windows 9x TCP/IP settings in the registry.
- Tcpip2k.htm = pertains info to the Windows 2000 TCP/IP settings in the registry.
